Things I Like And Don't Like About Minoxidil

There are a lot of things that suck about having to take Minoxidil. For instance, it has to be used twice a day. This makes it very difficult to apply sometimes, because I work eight hour shifts at work. These shifts get in the way of my application schedule, and I have ended up missing applications at times.

Another thing I'm not so fond of is the way it makes my hair all greasy looking. When I have to go out in public with my hair looking all wet and my forehead damp, it's just not cool. I bet people think, "man, why is he sweating so much?" It really does look like I'm sweating, and sometimes I try to wear a loose cap to conceal it. I'll push the bill of the cap up so it sits high on the front of my head. This seems to work.

I can't forget to mention the flakes that it causes in my hair and on my scalp. If I scratch my scalp, huge flakes come to the top surface of my hair. They are easily visible, and it looks like really bad dandruff. They are actually, apparently, Minoxidil residue that sticks to the scalp after it dries.

On the bright side, I absolutely LOVE that it's growing my hair back. I was so freaked out when I started loosing hair at only nineteen. It was terrible. But now I have some hope that my hair will last a little longer, and I will not look like I'm thirty-five already...The results of Minoxidil use have been pretty good, so far. I'm very pleased with what the drug has done for me concerning my hair loss.

I also like that it seems to be working fairly quickly. I didn't expect to see results this fast, but they are coming. I mean, it's not like results just appeared over night, but they are steadily showing. I have tons of pictures to compare, so it's easy for me to zoom in and see the changes.
